Start your adventure by boarding your bus in Alicante towards Santa Pola.
The first stop is the Salinas de Santa Pola, one of the most important salt production areas in Europe. Explore this unique natural and industrial landscape, where salt has been harvested for centuries. Learn about the salt extraction process and its historical significance to the region.
Enjoy some time around the salt flats, observe the local flora and fauna, especially the variety of bird species that inhabit the area, and take beautiful photos of this stunning environment.
Next, arrive at the port of Santa Pola and catch the boat to Tabarca Island, the only inhabited island in the region. During the 30-minute boat ride, make use of the water-level window to spot fish underwater.
Once on Tabarca, take some free time to explore this Mediterranean Marine Reserve and its fascinating biodiversity. Discover the place that was once home to Barbary pirates and admire the ancient walls that surround it.
Stroll around the small town, relax on the beach, go swimming, or enjoy a meal at one of the local restaurants. Later in the afternoon, board the boat back to Santa Pola for the bus ride back to Alicante.
