What to expect

Embrace the intact beauty of Krka Waterfalls, the perfect oasis in the middle of Dalmatia. Set off from Split and learn about the audacious history of the area all along the way to Krka National Park. Discover some of the highlights of the region during a guided tour of the waterfalls followed by a scenic boat ride to Skradin, where you'll sample local wine paired with cheese and olive oil.

After skipping the line into the park, you'll be overwhelmed by the sensation that you're exactly where you should be - surrounded by the impossible green and crystal clear blue scenery. While taking all of that in, you'll be guided to the most magnificent waterfall, Skradinski Buk. Swimming in the park is prohibited since it would disrupt the harmony of the ecosystem but you'll have a swim later on.

Next, we'll take a short bus ride to the picturesque town of Skradin on the other side of Krka. Visit Sladić winery and taste local wines guided by a master winemaker. You'll then have an hour more to explore Skradin at your own pace and the finale will be making up for the missed swim in Krka on the beach where the river pours into the Adriatic Sea.

Trogir and Split

Sitting at opposite ends of the Gulf of Kastela, Split and Trogir offer two contrasting visions of the past. Split is a bustling city built around a Roman emperor's palace while Trogir is a medieval town set upon an islet – and both are UNESCO World Heritage Sites.First, you'll visit Split, the hub of the Dalmatian coast. The star of the show is the vast third century palace of Roman Emperor Diocletian. Today it doubles as Split's old town and has been used to film Game of Thrones. You've then got all afternoon to explore the park for yourself. You can go wildlife spotting along the trails, as nightingales, herons, falcons and owls are all regulars here. Plus, the water is so see-through-clear here that it's easy to spot fish in the waters of the Krka River. Boat ride through Croatia’s Neretva Delta with lunch

If you're craving a slice of nature and want a change from the throng of Croatia's historic cities, then the Neretva Delta is what you're after. Within an hour and a half of Split, it's a mosaic of waterways, marshes and lagoons that you can peacefully meander along as you switch your holiday to a slower pace for the day.You'll arrive in the morning at Villa Neretva, where you'll board a trupica – a traditional Croatian riverboat – and take to the waterways of the Neretva River. The river's wetlands sprawl across Bosnia and Herzegovina, with a relatively small stretch flowing through Croatia before it pours out into the Adriatic Sea. In this protected conservation area, you'll glide through the clear water, with a good chance of spotting herons, egrets and pygmy cormorants. There are over 300 species of birds here among the other wildlife, so keep an eye out for some more unusual finds, like colourful kingfishers, black and yellow fire salamanders and vibrant Balkan green lizards.Past Lake Kuti, you'll stop for lunch at Neretva House Tavern, which can only be reached by boat, for a feast of traditional Dalmatian dishes.
