  • Enjoy a local wine tasting in La Geria
What to expect

This half-day tour is Lanzarote in a nutshell. You'll call in at El Golfo lagoon, journey through Timanfaya National Park and visit the Salinas de Janubio. We'll even throw in a wine tasting session to round off the tour.

First up, you'll visit the waters of El Golfo - it's emerald waters have starred in many a Hollywood film over the years. But that's just an appetiser for the main event – the visit to Timanfaya National Park. Famed for its moonlike landscape is dotted with lava fields and black rocks, you'll see the ‘Fire Mountain', to name but a few.

We'll continue the tour with a stop in La Geria for a sip of some local wine before we reach Salinas de Janubio, the largest salt flats in the Canaries. Snap a few selfies with the miles of cotton-white salt mounds as your guide fills you in on the history of this all-important island resource. You'll even get a chance to try some, too.

Excellent tour, guide very knowledgeable and informative. Only one hiccup when we couldn’t find him. On another note remove the wine tasting - a small amount of either sweet or dry white wine, not a true wine tasting. This was thought by a few people on the tour. Apart from that well worth it.

We have visited the Timanfaya volcano before but did enjoy it again. We didn't need to pay extra for the BBQ as we had plenty of good food at our hotel.. We were pleased to see the Nativity scenes ay Yaixa & the Salt Pans - both were new to us. Previously we'd been told that the salt pans were closed as we now have fridges & freezers so the explanation was very interesting.

Guide was great and flexible, and used his knowledge to get around weather and other issues on the day to make sure we got the best out of the trip

The bus driver was excellent as one would hope on those roads, always felt very safe. The tour guide George (Clooney)was very good, friendly, funny and interesting to listen to, learning the history of the islands. I really enjoyed it. The salt pan visit was interesting and very informative. The winery was interesting, though I don’t drink wine. All in all a good trip and worth the cost. Would recommend it.

bus was very late. we called customer service and they promised to call back but never did. the tour was pretty boring forced to stay in a bus most of the time which is not how it was sold to us. the guide was often incoherent.
