What to expect

There's nothing like a Lapland sleigh ride to get you into the festive spirit – and this trip doubles up the fun. You'll mush through the magical landscape pulled by hard-working husky dogs and slide through the snow on a sledge of Santa's reindeers – it's two-hours of Arctic adventure not to be missed.

After meeting some new furry friends in the form of husky and reindeer, you'll have the chance to snap a few photos before the exciting rides begin. Aboard a Santa-style sleigh, we set off through the magical winter wonderland that is Lapland.

You'll be pulled past frozen lakes and forests by a pack of hardy husky dogs along a 1.5-kilometre track, before hopping in a reindeer-pulled sledge for a 300-metre trot – it's twice the fun in one day.

    The staff were great, very knowledgeable, however nobody was making sure guests were sticking to the activities they had booked. Reps at the hotel were saying the husky ride itself would last around 30 mins, however it was closer to 7. Reindeer ride was nice but also very short. A nice trip overall but felt overpriced as over half the time we were there was spent in the restaurant waiting around to leave. The actual activities were over with in less than 20 mins combined.

    Travelled as a couple

    The trip overall was fabulous but as we was an adult couple staying out of the main resort we felt abounded. No staff to check anything, trip booked and the times was changed with no knowledge of. Very unhelpful manager . Very disappointed with being abandoned by no resort information at all . Will not book with TUI again.

    Although we enjoyed the husky and reindeer experience we felt it was a huge amount of money for the time spent on the excursion. The guides were fantastic. Think it’s misleading when the excursion is claimed to be 2-4 hours but most of that is travel time to get to the place.

    Was a little disappointed with the reindeer and husky experience, it was an expensive add on to our Lapland trip, which we didn’t mind so much but it lasted no more than 15 minutes on each experience, we weren’t able to feed or get close to the reindeer’s it was very rushed. No rep there to take photos for us as a family like there had been on the included Taster sessions earlier on the day, it was more about getting through the experience and getting you into the hut to buy drinks! We were out of the hotel for two hours for this excursion at a cost of around £500 for a family of 4. The taster session and the Santa visit included are really good, so this was disappointing to say the least.
