What to expect

Enjoy a tour to the highest railway station in Europe. Travel up 9 kilometers of which 7 are in tunnels. Spot the Eiger and Mönch mountains and Eismeer.

The Jungfrau Railway dates back to 1912 and is with a location at 3454 meters above sea level the highest railway station in Europe. The cog railway brings you from Kleine Scheidegg station to the Jungfraujoch. There will be a short 5-minute stop at Eismeer here you can admire a stunning view of the surrounding mountains. After the nine-kilometer journey, you will step into a world of rock, ice and snow and have some free time to immerse yourself in nature.

This journey ticket starts at Grindelwald and includes a roundtrip journey.

What to remember

Know in advance:

the QR code is the ticket - no need to exchange it. Just board by scanning one QR code per person at the gate or hop on the train
check the timetable and operating hours before booking

the total train ride is around 50 minutes
the ticket is valid for a train ride from Grindelwald Terminal - Eigergletscher - Jungfraujoch and back
it is recommended planning a minimum of 1.5 to 2.5 hours for a self-tour on top
the train is wheelchair accessible
children under the age of 5 can join for free and do not require a ticket
