What to expect

If you like to mix your sightseeing with a dose of real adventure, then this 4x4 safari tour is just the thing. Head off-road through spectacular Costa Blanca mountains, taking in all the sights of this rugged countryside – and navigating exciting tracks.

You'll have four hours of non-stop thrills as you set off on your 4x4 safari through the mountains. You'll be driven by a pro as you as the 4x4 zigzags dirt tracks on a route that gives you a taste of real adventure as you drive past a reservoir on your way to conquer Mt Aitana.

Power through the centre of this formidable massif and then make your way down a winding mountain-side track that leads all the way to a jungle-like dry river bed. During the safari, there'll be a pit stop in the small mountain village of Guadalest.

It's evolved into an epicurean food hall and is a go-to, not just for the nibbles but for the design of the building itself. It's a good spot to take a break at one of the cafés.'

If you're after a shot of authentic Spanish culture, then hop onboard a private bus from Benidorm to the laid-back seaside town of Villajoyosa. En route, you'll make a pit stop at the tranquil beach of Cala del Torres for photos by the cove. Breathe in to smell the pine and eucalyptus trees that fringe the beach here. Then it's on to Villajoyosa. The name means ‘The Joyful Town', and its collage of colourful coastal houses certainly reflect that. They were originally painted such vibrant colours to help fishermen spot their homes from the sea.You'll have plenty of free time here to check out the promenade, stroll through the pretty streets and pop into one of the seafront cafes. Alicante Hogueras de San Juan Festival

Welcome to the vibrant and colourful festival of Hogueras de San Juan, in Alicante. Held annually from June 20th to 24th, this celebration transforms the city into a lively hub of art, tradition and fun. You'll kick things off with a guided stroll through the city so you can take a look at the "Hogueras" – large artistic structures made of cardboard and stone. These creations, depicting satirical and sometimes funny scenes, are scattered throughout Alicante. The festival's all about burning useless objects at the summer solstice. During these days, the city is filled with light, colour, music and fireworks. The event kicks off with the Proclamation and the "Planta," when bonfires and lots of different monuments are placed around the city – some of them get up to be 20 metres tall.The most anticipated moment of the festival is St John's Day, June 24th, when a purifying fire consumes the bonfires during an event known as the "Nit de la Crema."
