Japanese paper, known as "washi" in Japanese, has a rich history of over 1,000 years and is extensively used to restore valuable cultural artifacts due to its thin and delicate texture, combined with remarkable durability. During this experience, you'll delve into the beauty of traditional Japanese craftsmanship and create your own washi postcards using time-honored techniques.
Three options are available:
- Option 1 – Premium Experience (60–90 min): create 4 postcards and a full-size “Rakusui paper”, known for its delicate, lace-like texture formed by dripping water during the papermaking process.
- Option 2 – Enhanced Postcard Experience (45–60 min): create 4 postcards and add your personal touch by decorating them with colored Japanese papers, combining color layering with traditional washi methods
- Option 3 – Standard Experience (30–40 min): create 4 postcards – a great option for those short on time
