Beschreibung

Verbringen Sie den Tag mit einer Fahrt durch das bewaldete Troodos-Gebirge und erkunden Sie einige der herrlichen Landschaften Zyperns auf dieser 4x4-Tour. Entdecken Sie Weinberge, Wasserfälle, Bergdörfer wie Lefkara, Pinienwälder und vieles mehr.

Die Tour beginnt mit einem Fotostopp am beeindruckenden Dipotamos-Staudamm. Dann geht es weiter in das verschlafene Bergdorf Lefkara, das für seine kunstvoll gefertigten Spitzen und Silberwaren bekannt ist. Fahren Sie ein wenig abseits der Piste in den Mesa-Potamos-Wald, wo Sie ebenfalls an einer optionalen Wanderung teilnehmen können.

Anschließend werden Sie in einer Dorftaverne ein Mittagessen nach Meze-Art genießen. Im Anschluss geht es zu einem beeindruckenden Waldwasserfall mit eiskaltem Wasser, das 20 m in die Tiefe stürzt. Zudem erwartet Sie eine Weinprobe, gefolgt von einem Besuch des Dorfes Tochni, wo Sie durch die engen Gassen spazieren und einen zypriotischen Kaffee in einem lokalen "Kafenion" probieren können. Ein erfrischender Abschluss für einen erlebnisreichen Tag.

Ancient Kourion tour with Paphos Harbour visit

Cyprus is home to some hugely important ancient Greek and Roman sites. On this tour, you'll take in Aphrodite's Rock, ancient Paphos and the Tombs of the Kings, visit Kourion – and enjoy free time in the Paphos harbour area. Andreas, one of our expert local guides, says, ‘The Tombs of the Kings offer us a valuable insight into ancient Mediterranean culture. There are very similar tombs in Alexandria, demonstrating the strong ties between the two cities in ancient times.'After a coffee pit-stop along the way, you'll stop by Kourion archaeological site to see landmarks such as the theatre – dating from the 2nd century BC – and the Agora. En route to Paphos, there's a photo stop at Petra tou Romiou – or Aphrodite's Rock – where, legend has it, the ancient Greek goddess of love and beauty emerged from the sea foam. Andreas says, ‘At Kourion, you see the ruined house of Eustolios and find out what life was like here before the city was destroyed by an earthquake in the 4th century.'Next, we'll head to ancient Paphos for a guided visit of the Tombs of the Kings, the House of Dionysos and its well-preserved mosaics. Andreas says, ‘The rock-hewn Tombs of the Kings were not actually intended for royalty, but instead the aristocracy and island governors were laid to rest here. The name reflects the sheer grandeur of the necropolis.' Later, you'll enjoy some free time to shop and wander around Paphos Harbour. Maybe you can stroll along the waterfront or grab a bite to eat at one of the many terrace cafés.

Ancient Kourion, Kolossi Castle, Omodos and winery tour from Limassol

Cyprus is all rolling hills dotted with pretty villages. On this adults-only tour, you'll see where a legend was born, visit the ruins of Kourion, venture to the village of Omodos and cap off the day with a wine tasting. Eva, one of our local guides, says of this excursion, ‘You'll wander through layers of history, culture and mythology.'You'll dive straight into the past at Kourion, one of the most impressive archaeological sites in Cyprus. Visit the Roman baths and amble into the site's centrepiece, the Greco-Roman theatre. Concerts are still held to this day. While the mosaics of the trio of excavated houses known as those of Eustolius, the Gladiators and Achilles are as impressive as when they were laid down. The 15th-century Kolossi Castle is up next. This steeped-in-legend Crusader-built fortress is nowadays surrounded by blooming plants. Then, we'll head for a local lunch in a family-run taverna before visiting mountain-fringed Omodos where you'll wander around skinny cobbled streets lined with Byzantine buildings. It's Eva's favourite village. She says, ‘The charm of the stone houses, the tranquillity and peace. It's as if it has sprung from a fairytale. I love dropping into one of the cafés and seeing locals have philosophical discussions, political arguments and a bit of gossip.' To finish, there's a wine tasting session, where you'll learn all about sweet commandaria wine – one of the oldest varieties in the world.

Blue Lagoon, gorge and beach tour by boat and 4x4 in Akamas

On this trip, you'll explore the Akamas peninsula by land and sea. And, rather than your typical coach set-up, you'll be in a 4x4 vehicle. The area is known for its natural beauty, so you're in for a real treat. Your day begins at Avakas Gorge, perhaps Cyprus' most impressive natural wonder, with a half-hour walk through its deep canyon with sheer walls of limestone that form a natural, narrow tunnel. Other star turns include Lara Beach, where a turtle conservation project has been protecting sea turtles for decades, enjoying lunch not far from Latchi harbour, and then a boat trip to the Blue Lagoon where you can take a dip in water so clear you'll see your toes.
