Guided Atlas Mountains 4x4 tour with Berber lunch in Immouzer

From sea level to high altitude, this is a full day trip with a side-order of adventure. You'll travel by 4x4 into the Atlas Mountains from the coastal plains of Agadir to discover the Berber village of Imouzzer Ida Outanane. Jamal, one of our expert local guides, says, ‘Imouzzer means “waterfall” in Berber, the language of the Atlas Mountains. Indeed, there are several waterfalls in the heart of our green valley, a place known especially for the quality of its honey.'Your High Atlas Mountains off-road adventure begins with a light breakfast and then a photo stop at the cool, palm-clad Tamzargout oasis, where you can stretch our legs. As we travel higher up into the mountains, the jaw-dropping views over Paradise Valley are sure to leave an impression. We'll arrive in the village of Immouzer to see how life in a typical Berber mountain community unfolds. On hot days, you might see local kids jumping off the rocks into the natural pools just outside the village.As you stroll around the village, you'll pass stalls selling Moroccan souvenirs and the prized local honey. Jamal says, ‘My mother used to prepare an artisanal treat known as “amlou”, made with Immouzer honey mixed with crushed almonds and argan oil, a real Berber delicacy.' Next it's time for an al fresco lunch prepared with fresh, locally sourced ingredients. You'll have some free time to relax and take in your dramatic surroundings before we return to Agadir through a different route in the mountains.

Atlantic coast tour and Timlalin Dunes sand-boarding session

Morocco's Atlantic Ocean coastline is the star of this tour. Journey through tiny fishing villages and hippie hangouts en route to Taghazout – a stretch of wave-washed sand that's been a surfer's paradise since the 60s. But you won't be joining the surf crowd in the sea – instead you'll hop on a sandboard to zoom down the towering Timlalin dunes.

Agadir Crocoparc Tour

Agadir Crocoparc is one of Morocco's top things to do. It's home to 400 crocodiles, some of which are over 4 metres long. Watch them dozing on the banks and peering from the water, and coo over the beady-eyed baby crocs in the nursery. And if you're here at feeding time, there's another treat – watching the adults fight over chunks of raw meat.

Camel safari experience

There's no more Moroccan way to go sightseeing than on the back of a camel. And with this 90-minute ride, you'll be at one with nature as well. You'll be transferred to the north of Agadir where you'll enjoy a slow and steady journey through a banana plantation and one of the city's most picture-postcard beaches. We'll head to a ranch around an hours drive from Agadir to start, where you'll be partnered with a camel between two people. Then, the adventure begins. The camel trail takes you through trails sprinkled with exotic landscapes and sandy dunes. It's a route the whole family will enjoy.Over the 90-minute trip, you'll enjoy a privileged view over the countryside, passing through a banana plantation, as well as have the chance to spot wildlife in its natural surroundings. You'll also enjoy the scenic vistas surrounding Tamri Beach, and as you trundle along, they'll be a quick stop for selfie or two before we head back.

Agadir cable car ride and Souk El Had Market

Soar throught the skies on a cable car ride from Agadir's Marina up to the historic Casbah of Agadir Oufella, where panoramic views of the bay and city await. You'll stop by a local Argan cooperative, where you can pick up pure Argan oil and spices. Then, finish up your adventure browsing through the bustling stalls of Souk El Had, one of Morocco's largest markets. It's a snapshot of Agadir's best, from sky-high sights to market delights.

Agadir Buggy Adventure

If you want an experience that'll get the adrenaline pumping through your veins, then this thrilling buggy adventure is for you. You'll be able to admire the coastal and rural landscape just outside of Agadir, but in a way that you won't forget. After a quick introduction to buggy handling and a safety briefing from your guide, you'll be ready for the off. Hop into your two-seater buggy and set off into the countryside leaving just a cloud of dust behind you. You'll have fun speeding along country tracks and testing your off-road driving skills.We'll stop at a mid-way point and take a break in a local house for some traditional sweet Moroccan tea and homemade bread. And after recharging your batteries, it's time for the second half of your buggy adventure as we head back to the starting point. You'll then be transferred back to your hotel in a much more sedate style.

Discover Agadir City Tour

Dip your toe into Agadir's history and culture, with a half-day tour to all its hotspots. Visit a traditional kasbah, take a stroll along the port and round and get your bearings with free time in the town.First up is a visit to the kasbah of Agadir Oufella. Built in 1541 as a fortress, the ruins stand on a hill out of town and offer sweeping views over the harbour, beach and city. Next, we'll drive through the port area, where you can catch sight of the fishermen offloading their catch of the day. Then, it's on to the new town and the main streets of Agadir where you can take some snaps outside Mohamed V Mosque.We'll then slow down the pace with a guided visit and free time at the main market, Souk El Had. Haggling with stallholders for spices, crafts, furnishings and more isn't just part of the experience – it's expected. Or why not sip on a mint tea as you watch the world around you. Pick up some more bargains at our final shopping stop – Chez Tijani.

Hammam and massage

Get your holiday off to a relaxing start with a sumptuous Hammam bath and massage. You'll be taken to a spa in Agadir where you can leave all your worries at the door, and with hotel transfer all included, you'll not need to lift a finger.The calming atmosphere and décor of the spa will make you feel at ease straight away and with ambient music playing in the background you'll be ready to start your treatment. Camel trek and barbecue experience

It's the classic mode of transportation in Morocco – a camel caravan. On this sunset tour, you'll tower above the dunes of Tamri Beach and ride alongside the Atlantic Ocean. Then round off the evening with a freshly sizzled barbecue dinner in the open air.After pick-up from your hotel, you'll arrive at the beach ready for your sandy adventure. After a safety briefing, you'll sway, two people per camel, through the undulating dunes towards Tamri Beach where you'll have the best vantage point to spot the changing colours of the sunset.After a leisurely 90-minute ride complete with sweeping views of the ocean, it's time to head for the ranch, surrounded by olive groves and palm trees with the Atlas Mountains in the distance. Unwind as we prepare a barbecue dinner under the evening sky.

Atlas Mountains trekking tour

If you're an early bird and you love making the most of your mornings, then a two-hour trek in the Atlas Mountains will leave you feeling invigorated and ready to explore. You'll be led by an expert guide on a trek through Taghrat Ouankrim, not far from Agadir.You'll head out into the peace and quiet of the Atlas Mountains early in the morning to avoid the heat of the midday sun. Along the journey, you'll stop at Alma village to take in the views as well as the verdant green Tamzargout Oasis for a photo stop. Once we arrive at Aksri, a typical Berber village, you'll be treated to a traditional breakfast – ideal for charging your batteries ahead of the trek.From here, you'll then set off on a two-hour trail, passing by deep craggy gorges, soaring summits and rocky expanses. This trail is a great opportunity to experience the Atlas Mountains up close and escape into the tranquillity of nature.
